Home Bar Hero now makes that call for you. When you're missing an ingredient but own something that genuinely stands in for it, the recipe shows up as Ready, with a sub instead of hiding in the "almost" pile. Tap it and a chip spells out the swap the app has in mind, ginger liqueur standing in for ginger syrup, so you're never guessing what it substituted or why.
You stay in charge. The badge is a suggestion with its reasoning shown, not a silent swap buried in the ingredient list. Don't like the call? Ignore it and buy the real thing.
